About Luke Smith
I was born in Tacoma Washington, but spent most of my childhood moving every couple of years, so I’ve lived all over the place! I spent a good chunk of time in Cody Wyoming before moving to El Jebel, Colorado halfway through high school. I’ve been in Colorado ever since. I met my wonderful wife while playing in the jazz band at Colorado Christian University. We’ve been married since 2015 and have two kids, Samuel and Noelle.
Before coming to Alamosa I worked at a church in the Denver area and toured and performed with a number of jazz, blues and folk bands. I love listening to and playing all kinds of different music! We moved to Alamosa in the beginning of 2020 after being called to serve at Living Water. We love this community and the place where God has placed us.
I’m an avid purveyor of the outdoors, especially while trail running, mountain biking, skiing, camping or hunting. I spend a lot of time reading books and watching good movies with family and friends. I cherish being a father and a husband, spending time with my family, and taking care of our pack of dogs, cats, and chickens.
But most of all I’m passionate about following Jesus, and sharing the good news of the kingdom of God! In Jesus we can be forgiven of our sins, given new life, and brought into God’s kingdom, through which He is making all things new! I’m fascinated by how to create music and art that communicates these wonderful truths and that reflect the beauty of God and the gospel. Making music that echoes the creativity of my creator and leads others to worship fills me with joy.
